Help Age Cymru Powys support our local Wellbeing Volunteers!
No one should feel isolated, lonely, or forgotten in Powys.
Our county is beautiful, but its rural nature means many older residents face intense geographical and social isolation. Right now, many in our community are managing ill-health, mobility challenges, and the rising cost of living entirely on their own.
At Age Cymru Powys, our Wellbeing Volunteers are a vital lifeline. They step up to ensure that local older residents feel connected, valued, and safe.
Matching volunteers with older people who share similar interests, they make a massive difference through:
Companionship: Weekly home visits, chats over tea, or friendly phone calls.
Getting Outdoors: Winter walking groups, light gardening, and meet-ups.
Practical Support: Digital help, form-filling, and lovely days out together.
While our volunteers give their time and hearts for free, running a safe, effective volunteer programme requires resources. Your donation today will directly fund the recruitment, training, and vetting of our Wellbeing Volunteers, helping us match more isolated older people with a friendly face.
How your donation helps:
£5 helps pay for volunteer travel expenses to reach an isolated person in a rural area.
£15 funds vital training for a new volunteer to provide companionship and digital support.
£50 covers the cost of vetting and recruiting a volunteer, creating a lasting friendship for someone who has lost their loved ones.
Please donate today. Together, we can ensure no older person in Powys has to face isolation alone. Thank you.
