Running Swindon half marathon for Croydon Mencap!

I am running the Swindon Half Marathon to raise money for the Croydon Mencap charity because of the fantastic work they do. I have never attempted a long distance run before, so this will be a real challenge! A little bit about Croydon Mencap ! The centre is open Monday-Friday and supports people with all disabilities that live in the area, by teaching them key skills that will help them live a longer and healthier life. They run classes daily in art, drama, PE, social club, etc. and support one of my family members, Indi Xavier. Indi thoroughly enjoys attending the centre every week and, thanks to Mencap, has massively grown in confidence and gained a real sense of belonging and purpose. Indi is cared for by his family 24/7 due to his Down Syndrome. Being able to attend Mencap has allowed him to develop an active lifestyle, learn new skills and make numerous friends which he sees every week. One of Indi's favourite sessions is on a Friday which is his theatre production day. The team at Mencap work really hard with all its members to develop two great productions a year, which Indi absolute loves taking part in. Although he keeps us guessing about which role he is playing, on the night he never disappoints and makes sure he is always in the limelight!
