I lost my Godson Aidan to cancer aged 11, whilst I cannot cure or stop cancer I and Aidan's family are trying to make something positive come from Aidan's short time wth us.
We have set up Aidan's Activity Fund to raise matey to provide activity packs, games, DVD's and mini IPads for Children admitted to Hospital with serious illnesses.
Aidan was mischievous and very active through his treatment, so it is appropriate that we try and give the youngsters something to do outside of just enduring the consequences of treatment and the illness. Also we are aware of the effects on other family members who have to take a back seat whilst the person who is ill demands attention.
So as little as £1 will but a pack for an overnight stay, crayons pictures and games. Larger amounts help towards DVD's and Tablet computers
All of the money raised is spent on the activities, nothing is taken for admin or expenses.
I don't remember who the nutter was that suggested the Absail, I hate heights, I am concerned that the safety briefing takes place in the Tower on a floor with Windows to see the view, I won't be looking, I may not even let go of the wall, once roped on I should be ok? I hope.
Please be generous, I do not want to do this again.....
Thank You
Alan
