You Matter Saddleworth CIC supports the Oldham community with mental health and wellbeing by creating opportunities for people to connect with nature, creativity, practical skills, volunteering and each other.

Our woodland site in Uppermill is already being used for wellbeing sessions, Forest School activities, volunteering, young people’s projects, creative workshops and community events. However, one thing we do not currently have is an accessible toilet on site.

At the moment, this creates a real barrier. It can make sessions harder to run, limit how long people can stay, and make the site less accessible for people with mobility needs, health conditions, children, families, volunteers and anyone who simply needs basic facilities while spending time in nature.

We are fundraising for an accessible composting toilet, along with the materials and work needed to site it safely and properly. This includes preparing a level base, improving access, adding suitable handwashing facilities, and making sure the toilet is practical, safe and respectful to the woodland environment.

This project is not just about installing a toilet. It is about dignity, inclusion and making our woodland site more welcoming for everyone.

Having an accessible toilet would help us offer longer and more reliable sessions, support more people safely, reduce barriers to taking part, and make the site more suitable for community groups, volunteers, children, young people and adults.

Every donation will help us create a more accessible, inclusive and comfortable woodland space where people can feel welcome, supported and able to take part.
