The Big Calderdale Sleepout

We are fundraising to help support the homeless and vulnerable across Calderdale by experiencing just one night of sleeping rough for the Big Calderdale Sleep Out as part of World Homeless Day. Unfortunately, sleeping outside with no home to go to, with nowhere warm and dry to feel safe and with no hope of a resolution is a very real prospect for a shocking number of individuals across our district, some for days, weeks, months or even years. 

Funds raised will go directly to us at Calderdale SmartMove, who support the homeless and vulnerable across Calderdale by sourcing safe and secure homes and providing unconditional, practical and social support to bring hope to individuals and to ensure they maintain their tenancies. We also provide start up essentials such as food, clothing and cleaning materials, one to one support to tackle mental and physical health issues, as well as working with local partners to tackle any other issues such as addiction. We provide basic life skills and education to prepare our clients for volunteering, training and meaningful work wth the aim of returning to independent living. We have a 96% success rate with our clients and we hope to be able to continue our valuable work for many years to come.
