Bath to Paris 2017 for Sporting Family Change

The Deane’s epic cycle ride from Bath to Paris. After conquering Kilimanjaro, Jimmy had to find something else to challenge us all and because he loves Paris so much and even though we haven’t cycled since we were children, he thought it would be a great idea to cycle from Bath to Paris! This time though will be very special for us both, this time we will be joined by our son, Tobias. We have never done a sporting challenge together and whilst our backsides are already in pain, this is nothing compared to some of the enormous challenges the families, children, carers and young adults which Sporting Family Change support every day. We are all passionate about this charity, which mentors, coaches and supports people who, for whatever reason, find themselves in a less fortunate position than us. Women who have suffered domestic violence, but whose courage and strength with their children after all they have gone through, is amazing. Children with no confidence and no belief that they are worthy of any happiness, laughing and playing sport and for the first time believing in themselves. Young adults with disabilities who with support from Sporting Family Change have the opportunity to socialise, have fun and interact with friends. Families with carer responsibilities, given the opportunity to enjoy a short holiday, with Sporting Family Change on hand to give the family respite and a chance to enjoy time together. We are also incredibly lucky to be joined by a number of the family members Sporting Family Change support. We are all self-financing our cycle challenge, so all money raised will go directly to Sporting Family Change and the families they support. Thank you.
