Many residents are starting again after losing their homes, livelihoods, or support networks, and struggle with trauma, poor health, and financial hardship. While others celebrate with family and friends, Derventio’s supported housing residents often watch from the sidelines.

As one said,

“The worst thing is looking through the windows at everybody else’s Christmas.”

Our festive gift boxes bring warmth, comfort, and a reminder that someone cares. Each box costs just £14 and includes seasonal treats. Receiving a gift might seem small, but for someone facing isolation, it can lift spirits, reduce loneliness, and help them feel valued and included.

What happens if we raise more or less than our target?

Every pound you give helps us provide Christmas gifts for residents. If we raise more than we need for this appeal, any extra donations will go to Sylvester's Fund, which supports residents in our supported housing with essential items throughout the year. If we raise less than our target, we'll use all donations to buy as many gifts as possible with the funds available.
