Diego runs for The Mentoring Lab

In 2023 I'll be running in one of the world's major marathons while raising funds for The Mentoring Lab. This fundraising campaign brings together 2 big passions of mine - Running, and Mentoring.

I have been working with The Mentoring Lab for most of 2022 in their Gametime activities, and as a corporate mentor. Mentoring gives the mentor a unique opportunity to impact someone's life and help them put together the tools needed to develop. It provides the mentee with an experience and a relationship they likely wouldn't have had otherwise.

In my short time mentoring young people in both corporate and volunteer environments, I have realised that it's an incredibly humbling and fulfilling opportunity. It's a privilege to be able to mentor someone, and watch them grow in real time. The goal is never to teach; it's to guide, support, and encourage the mentees goals and ambitions.

With all that being said, please help me in raising funds for The Mentoring Lab so more young people around East London can get such opportunities. No matter how small the amount you are able to contribute, be sure that it will be going towards changing the lives of young people in our community.

£10 - covers the cost of 1 volunteer youth leaders daily expenses, allowing them to support the work we do and gain key employability skills

£25 - cover the cost of 30 minute group mentoring session with 30 youths

£100 - covers the cost of 2 staff delivering one day of our Saturday Mentoring Club
