On Saturday 12th September, the team at Don Whitley Scientific will be lacing up their walking boots and taking on a fantastic charity walk along the Leeds to Liverpool Canal, all in support of The Principle Trust Children’s Charity. They will start at Bingley Five Rise Locks and walk the 16-mile length of the canal to Granary Wharf in Leeds.
Every mile the team walks will help us provide free, week-long respite breaks for children across Yorkshire who are facing some of life’s toughest challenges, including:
Mental health challenges
Trauma and abuse
Poverty and disadvantage
Serious illness and disability
For the children we support, these breaks are so much more than a holiday. They provide an opportunity to step away from the pressures of everyday life, spend precious time together with their family to rest and reconnect, and most importantly, make memories that last.
Taking on a walking challenge requires plenty of determination, but knowing that every step can make a difference to a child facing adversity will hopefully help keep the Don Whitley Scientific team going when the miles get tough!
Now we need your support to make those miles count.
Please sponsor whatever you can. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help us reach more children and families who desperately need time away together.
You can also help by sharing our fundraising page with your friends, family, colleagues and customers to spread the word.
Please support Don Whitley Scientific today and help turn every step along the canal into precious memories for children facing adversity.
