On 2nd July teams of 11 compete with one of the crew beating a drum to dictate the pace of the paddles. There will be a minimum of three races. The fastest teams compete in the final. It is a challenge for those who wish to savour the ancient traditions of the dragon boat race as much as for those who want to test their strength and rowing technique by travelling across the 250m course in the fastest time.

At Young Kent we support young people (aged 8-25) from across Kent & Medway. We work with the youth sector, in particular the countys youth clubs as well as delivering our own programmes of support direct for disadvantaged, disengaged or disabled young people.

All the work we do helps young people to build the confidence and skills they need to overcome their barriers, realise their true potential and enjoy brighter futures. The money we raise will go back into the programmes we run, whether this be for mental health awareness, road safety and our weekly job club.
