Charity ride but this time from Dublin to Cork
Five years ago I made the decision to learn how to sail and if you know me you know I don't do anything by halves...!! I decided to buy a 30' Yacht and teach myself to sail and am glad to say it all went well. I have sailed to many places single handedly including the Channel Islands only a year after buying the yacht which also included a night crossing on my return to the UK. It has made me realise that its only ourselves that put barriers up when it comes to experiencing life to the full and as we are only here once I now intend to sail around the word in 2023, I also promised myself before I leave these shores that I would set myself a new challenge each year and this year l would like to give something back to my local community. So when my employer Jones Building Group asked if I wanted to join their team on another charity bike ride on 17th July, I jumped at the chance. Over the last couple of months I have been training in all weathers and still have a lot more training to do. Due to my love of sailing, realising just how much fun it is and the confidence it can give you when you have the opportunity to get out on the water I would like to ask you to be so kind as to donate some money to Horizons Children's Sailing Charity in Plymouth who provide water activity's for disadvantaged and disabled children in the local area. After my 400 mile ride I will also be offering some of my free time this year to the charity. Thanks for your support ?
