The Ring of Fire 2026 – Celebrating Our 10-Year Anniversary!
What started a decade ago as a crazy idea by a few ex-rugby players looking to raise money on their bikes has transformed into an incredible movement. Over the past ten years, more than 150 riders have joined the "Ring of Fire," raising a staggering £500,000 for charity.
To celebrate our 10th anniversary in 2026, we are pushing our limits further than ever. This year, we are raising vital funds for Willen Hospice, the MND Association, and Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) — a charity that successfully identified life-saving cardiac risks in four Milton Keynes teenagers thanks to our 2025 funding.
This year, I’ve managed to rope my wife Sue and daughter Sophie into the fundraising efforts! Here is the gruelling lineup of challenges I’m taking on:
May 9th: The family kicks things off by abseiling 400ft down Northampton's National Lift Tower. Nothing says family bonding like dangling off the world’s tallest free-standing tower!
May 14th–17th: A 300-mile cycle through Northern France and Belgium with 50 riders, visiting historic war memorials and the Roubaix Velodrome.
July 17th: A 24-hour cycle to Cambridge and back, completed entirely while wearing an outfit purchased from a Willen Hospice shop—which must be returned in saleable condition!
September: The Willen Hospice 100-mile sportive, followed by an agonizing multi-day cycling challenge through the steep peaks of the Pyrenees.
Willen Hospice MND Association CRY
These charities provide compassionate care and life-saving support to families when they need it most.
All my challenges are 100% self-funded. This means every single pound you donate goes directly to the charities.
If you’d like to support my 2026 journey and help us smash our targets for this milestone year, please consider making a donation. Any amount is hugely appreciated! ❤️🙌
