Welcome to my fundraiser foghlaim go gach duine “learning for everyone”
As part of the friends forever international program we do a social action project component so we can have the opportunity to put the skills we gained into purpose and help our community.
For my project I will be focusing on the lack of resources for people with dyslexia and trying to educate more people on dyslexia especially parents/guardians who have kids that are diagnosed with it and want to learn more ways in how they can support them :)
As a solution to this problem I will be doing two things:
1) information night on dyslexia where people can come and learn more about it from people who have dyslexia or experience with working with people who have dyslexia such an author of an book for people with dyslexia, SNA’s, representations from the dyslexia association Ireland and I will personally talk about my experiences too.
2) I will be fundraising for 10 c-pens to be put into my past secondary school so students have more support and feel confident in their learning. An c-pen is an wonderful device which reads text out loud but also has an dictionary included in it to, to give definitions for a word a student might be stuck on, it does 3 languages and are constantly expanding, the best part of a c-pen is that you can bring it anywhere.
