Jumping out of a plane 10,000ft up and hurtling to the ground at 120mph is not something I have ever had the motivation to do. That was until I got a plea from my friend asking me to help raise money for Families United Network (FUN), a charity close to his heart. He and his wife have beautiful 5 year old twin girls who have recently been diagnosed with autism. Parenting is hard enough but living with two autistic young girls is a daily battle. I imagined what it must have felt like finding out that your children have a disability. I imagined that it must have been like jumping out of a plane in to a daunting, vast, open sky and not knowing for sure if your parachute would open or even if you had a parachute at all. No training, no safety cord, no emergency exit. Charities such as FUN are therefore invaluable as they provide help, support and advice to families with children who have disabilities of any kind. They also run holiday clubs that are a great place for children, with lots of activities, sensory rooms and different entertainment each day. This gives parents a well-deserved break and assures them that they are not alone and that it doesn’t have to be a free fall into the unknown. That was all the motivation I needed and I happily signed up for the dive on 11th May! I'm also doing a 50 obstacle mud run on 27th April and a half marathon on the 5th May!! So please give anything you can to help me reach my goal. Any amount would be greatly appriciated! Thank you! xXx
