I'm walking the the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge - taking on the hilly peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough - in support Leeds Tidal.
The challenge is to walk all three peaks in half a day - that's 24 miles of steep ascents and descents in 12 hours! As you all know I only have little legs and such a task will be only be more arduous for a man of my hobbit stature.
Although there's the pleasure of blistered feet and chafing thighs, I'm undertaking this challenge in support of the fantastic Leeds Tidal. Leeds Tidal is a campaigning group that works to support, coordinate and grow global activism in Leeds and does amazing work in providing training and support to small NGOs in Leeds.Their work isn't the most glamorous and isn't the first to be praised, but what they do is vital to help other small campaigners in Leeds be as successful as they can be.
I've set a modest fundraising target of £150 that'll all go toward supporting the work Leeds Tidal - I hope you can contribute whatever you can and we can make more than that in the end. There's also always the hope I'll get really tired and end up stranded on the top of a massive hill, and I don't know why you wouldn't want to give money to see that happen.
