Young people that have qualified as sports leaders through our youth and community project "Unity in the Community" teach young children skills relating to sports, social skills and important values and morales too. The focus of the activities are based on multi-skills and multi-sports! This is all done in an extremely FUN environment and because of this, this is the most accessible activity for children in the local area, in terms of price, gender participation, ages and many other ways.
Why they need our serviceThe reason for our project is to give young people in Kenilworth and surrounding areas the opportunity to become leaders in their own community through the delivery of sports sessions to the next generation (4-12 year olds). By doing this, not only do they gain skills in communication, teamwork, problem solving, working with others in their community alongside other more specific training, but they also gain valuable morale's and values that stick with them for many years to come.
Plan and expected results1) Work with a minimum of 10 youth leaders to deliver the project over 12 months 2) Increase the employability of young leaders and provide them with work opportunities 3) Deliver sports activities for a minimum of 150 children within Kenilworth and surrounding areas 4) Support for young leaders to develop their own projects as a community initiative 5) Begin to deliver Sport Specific courses (i.e. football) for children to continue their positive relationships with Young Leaders
