Please help Mevagissey School to bring this inspiring project to life. The Nature Garden is part of wider outdoor improvements which will inspire children to learn about the natural environment through education and play.

The garden will include a pond and will help the children to understand the life cycle of plants and animals exploring how plants and water come together to create wildlife habitats. This biodiversity project will improve the number and diversity of insects, plants, mammals and birdlife at the school which will provide a rich learning experience for future generations in Mevagissey.

They have secured half the money to build this initiative and your donations will help to match this funding.

The school has the opportunity to create a designated Nature/Wildlife Garden, which would provide an engaging way to enhance the science curriculum. This space would allow students to enjoy activities such as pond dipping, exploring various habitats, and understanding biodiversity, which fosters awareness of their environmental impact. Additionally, it can be integrated into STEM lessons by having learners construct bird tables, feeders, and nest boxes. To ensure safety, the garden area will be securely fenced, with estimates for the fencing including concrete posts and picket fencing. Transforming the current state of this area into an inviting wildlife space not only enriches the educational experience but also instills a passion for nature and conservation in students.
