I'm Ben, some student from Bournemouth that is studying to be a paramedic. I thought my life wasn't stressful enough going into my final year, so I decided to up it, by taking on the incredible opportunity to run the London Marathon on behalf of Vision 4 Youth.
I've had the pleasure of volunteering for these guys over the last few years. It's taught me many things, from humility, patience and above all - how to cook brownies in record speed. Although I can't promise quality, as the kids tell me that they aren't sweet enough with caramel, marshmallows, chocolate and malteasers. Furthermore, I've never danced more in my life than to these... k-pop demon hunters? Like what even is that?
If you don't know what Vision 4 Youth is, they're a local charity based in Yateley aiding youths through the government Holidays Activities and Food programme (HAF). I wish I went to these guys when I was a kid, because honestly, it’s life changing. Whether they have guest speakers coming in to talk about their new cognitive learning boardgames, code in Minecraft, or be the next Conor McGregor in MMA - it's everything I would've wanted. By doing this, the charity actively discourages teenage antisocial behaviour, isolation and bullying to promote mature and independant individuals into society.
So help me fulfill my commitment to this wonderful charity, and hope to see you soon at the fundraisers! 😊
