On Saturday the 23rd June 2018 Miss Muffet will again be participating in the Eddystone Pursuit, with me (Will) as her skipper. The event involves us leaving from a start line in Plymouth, sailing around the Eddystone Lighthouse (or, in the event of very little wind, a shortened course) and back again in a Hawk 20 keelboat (Miss Muffet and Papagena can be seen in the image above). This can take, depending on the conditions, anywhere between around 4.5 hours and 8 hours and involves covering around 26 miles. All money raised, plus prize money from the event, goes towards the boats chosen charity, which will be Horizons Children's Sailing Charity. About Horizons: 'Horizons' helps disadvantaged and disabled children from the inner city communities of Plymouth by getting them sailing in a safe, relaxed and fun environment away from the troubles of home and school life. Every year we run about 3,000 individual sessions involving hundreds of young people aged 8 to 19 – and everyone is welcome! If you would like to read more about our charity, please go to www.horizonsplymouth.org and have a browse. If you'd like to sponsor us for the event that would be very much appreciated! Thanks, Will and crew!
