This time last year, I was going through a very difficult period. I knew I needed to make changes and stepping away from the corporate world gave me the opportunity to focus on what mattered.
Over the past year, I've gradually started to get back outside and appreciate the place I call home. Exploring the Mournes and spending more time outdoors helped me reconnect with my surroundings and community around me. That connection eventually became part of the reason Mourne Peak exists.
I'm now in Week 7 of Couch to 5K. I didn't start because I wanted to become a runner. I started because I wanted to get moving again, challenge myself and prove that I could keep progressing.
I'm working towards completing 5K. Roughly the distance from the upper car park at Kilbroney Park to the summit of Slieve Martin, depending on the route. I'm using that journey to raise money for The Well, whose work supporting mental health and wellbeing in our local community is something I believe deserves support.
Through Mourne Peak, we already donate £1 from every sale to The Well and have raised £100 so far. I wanted to build on that and do something more. My goal is to raise £500 for The Well and help support the important work they do. If you can donate, thank you. If you can't, sharing the fundraiser can help too.
Every step matters ❤️
