To most people's surprise I am running the London Marathon! I have chosen to run for The Acorn Cancer Support Group, a local charity which is described more below. I have great memories of helping at events when I was younger - so please help me to raise some money for such a great charity!
The Acorn Cancer Support Group has been operating for more than 25 years and aims to alleviate the distress surrounding people diagnosed with cancer of other life-limiting illness and their carers. Their three groups meet monthly and offer free relaxation therapies, friendship and support, along with the opportunity for sharing experiences and meeting new friends. The Acorn Cancer Support Group also provide a range of free social outings: boat trips, a Christmas lunch, monthly film club and ad-hoc social outings. Taken together these help to provide an improved quality of life for their members.
