On 6th August 2006 (20 years ago), Margaret Smith Mum passed away from cancer.

In her honour, her son (Julian/Smut) and his mate (Martin/Mole) ran the New Forest Half Marathon, in September 2006, to raise money in her memory with t-shirts that said "Run For Mum".

Every year, since then, we've had a number of runners join the "Run For Mum" team, taking part in the New Forest Marathon events, starting with players from New Milton Eagles, then the wider Eagles family and then branched out way beyond that to friends and family and raised money for a number of charities.

In memory of this being the 20th anniversary, we have put together a "Run For Mum 20" team and will be raising money for SCARF (a wonderful local charity that provides term time and holiday clubs for for children, with additional needs, and their families).

Our aim is to raise £2000, across our team, which will ensure some incredible days out for these children and their families.
