Hey friends
I'm excited (and a little nervous) to announce that I'm taking on the challenge of the Devon & Cornwall Backyard Ultra—an ultra marathon like no other. This unique race format has participants running a 4.167-mile loop every hour, on the hour, until only one runner is left standing. There's no finish line—just pure endurance, grit, and determination. Gulp.
But I'm not doing this just for the thrill (though that's part of it!). I'm running to raise funds for Axminster & Lyme Cancer Support. a cause close to our hearts.
When my wife and I moved here 6 yrs ago we met one awe inspiring woman, she was in breast cancer remission and she took our family in as hers. She drove us in labour for our second son Taylor and was there throughout for our unexpected third son Jake.
Things for Donna Drew, who works for Axminster & Lyme Cancer Support took an unexpected turn this year and her cancer is back, but in her ovaries. It has bowled us for six and Donna too and as a family we are determined to support Donna and her family and raise as much money as we can for charities close to Donna's heart.
Every mile I complete, every hour I push forward, and every step I take is in support of this incredible organization. I hope to make a difference, but I need your help to do it. Whether I run 10 miles or 100 miles, your donations will keep me motivated and, more importantly, help Axminster & Lyme Cancer Support continue their vital work.
Please consider supporting my effort with a donation of any size. Together, we can make a real impact.
Thank you for your generosity and encouragement!
Andy
