In one of the remotest and poorest parts of the world parents face an impossible choice for their young children:
- Stay with the family but with little outlook for the future, or
- Receive education far away from the family and a possible bright future. Those children that left at age 4 for education, have an opportunity to reunite with their families at age 16 when they have finished their secondary education. This is only possible if there is funding available to get them back to their villages. The children come from very poor and extremely remote villages where no schooling is available.
- For more details please watch the trailer of the award winning documentary "Children of the Snow Land".I am self-funding my trip( not through your donations) to join this year’s students on their journey and thereby enable them to renew their bonds with their family. Some of my funds also contribute towards paying for the guide, cook, porters (all local) who will also look after the children.
All donations that I raise will go exclusively to the children’s journey back to their families, eg domestic flights, camping equipment, food, water, personal trekking gear. It costs £1600 per child and I hope to raise enough funds with your help to enable 1 child to make the journey, which takes many hours trekking per day for 15 days (showing just how remote these villages are).
Please help me support the children to reunite with their families. With just a few weeks to go, I am going to be getting some long walks and more cycling in, mixing it up with yoga and XFit sessions to ensure I am ready for all that the trip will bring. So long cakes!
Wonderful thing to do Linda.
