Hi folks, many of you may know (also many of you may not), I work for Survivors Network, the Sussex sexual violence and abuse charity supporting survivors of all ages and genders in many wonderful healing ways!
One thing we have long aspired for, and survivors have asked us for, is a space that is all our own within nature. A place to heal and connect to nature, to plant both very real and metaphorical seeds of healing, hope and change!
Recently, we have worked with the council to secure an allotment spot, but now comes the hard part…turning the dream into reality!
If you are seeing this it’s likely that you know and understand the power, joy and fulfilment that comes from gardening!
We are asking for any contribution towards setting up our garden, the price of a bag of compost, a new shovel or if you are flush, maybe even a new shed!
Similarly if you don’t have funds to give but do have secondhand tools, extra compost lying about, an old greenhouse you don’t use, drop me a DM and we can take them off your hands!
I know times are tough, but any contribution will help give survivors of assault and abuse a space of natural sanctuary to call their own!
Thank you green fingered friends!
