When people are having to deal with mental health challenges, learning difficulties or going through depression, bereavement or loneliness, where can they go for support? I've been working as volunteer with an amazing charity, Space, over the last few months, and I have come to realise just how important their work is in supporting vulnerable adults in our local community. Often they have a combination of complex issues and Space provides free drop-in support, workshops and counselling sessions. About 75% of those that come to Space live alone.
My challenge is simply to walk a minimum of 100 miles during the month of February 2022. I will try to walk in the natural environment and track my mileage using my Fitbit and post weekly updates. Since building great relationships with some of the beneficiaries of Space I am passionate about this charity and will donate an additional £10 for every hundred pounds raised.
Your contribution will provide more support for these critical services. Since COVID, the demand for people needing SPACE has increased massively. Even if you can only provide a small amount, every bit helps. Thank you so much.
Well done Julia! X
