Some of the Erewash Sound presenters will be walking from Ilkeston to Long Eaton to raise money for your local radio station!
The walk will be on the morning of Saturday 3rd of February, 2024. Keep an eye on our socials for more details on our start time and route so you can cheer us on along the way.
Erewash Sound has a track record for nurturing success, with 26 people so-far having left for roles in the media industry – they're proud but not surprised; you can get training elsewhere, but what they can offer is a real 24-hour FM radio station to get real experience.
The organisation is a not-for-profit community interest company, with over 40 regular volunteers, supported by two part-time employed roles to coordinate and develop the radio station’s activities.
Every donation is greatly appreciated, since Covid, Erewash Sound has had a serious lack of funding. Many of their potential advertisers are struggling due to the cost of living crisis, which has impacted negatively on the funding for the station.
Hopefully you will spot the walkers on their journey and you can give them a wave!
