Zink's services are available to families and individuals across the High Peak and Derbyshire Dales. Our primary aim is to address and prevent poverty. That poverty could be financial or in terms of fulfilment. To meet immediate need we can provide emergency food through High Peak Foodbank. Our advice service helps address the issues that caused the need and our work coaches support clients into work so they don't need to rely on food parcels again.
But, we go further than that, our wellbeing services are there to provide positive activity and support the community so everyone who gets involved feels a little brighter! We have a weekly timetable of activities ranging from a School of Rock to Knit Happens, board games and gaming, baking and walking.
Zink's community eco-cafe is open to all and provides nourishing meals using food surplus in the supply chain. Benefit recipients get 50% off and foodbank users eat for free. There's a warm welcome at Zink HQ for everyone!

Why the community needs us
Some families do not have enough income, our food parcels and advice service can help with this in the short term and our employability programmes in the longer term. Many people who use our services are isolated or experiencing poor mental health (this is partly but not entirely) as a result of the pandemic. This makes them less likely to obtain work or address issues. Some of our services are designed to provide positive activities where people can mix, learn, be active, express themselves creatively and give. All this builds social and work skills that helps people build confidence and get or keep jobs.
It's not just for people who are going through a tough time, Zink aims to prevent problems happening in the first place. Visit our website to find out more!

Our impact on the community
In 2022 we provided 48,000 meals for over 2000 children and adults. We provided additional support to more than half our clients; helping them to resolve benefit, housing or finance issues through Zink Advice or into work, training or education through Zink Employability. Over 300 people are supported by Zink Advice every year and over 470 have been helped into work through Zink Employability so far. We  also welcome over 200 people a week to Buxton Community Eco-Café.
