All women and children have the right to live their lives free from fear and harm.

We provide a range of the very best services for vulnerable women and girls with multiple complex needs along with victims and survivors of: domestic, sexual & honour based violence and abuse; forced marriage; trafficking; stalking and harassment. Our choice of services includes: Emergency refuge accommodation, telephone helpline, drop-in services, healthy relationship programmes, independent DV Advocates (IDVAS) and Children support. Safeguarding families children is central to our work.

Why the community needs us

Any woman can experience domestic violence regardless of race, ethnic or religious group, class, disability or lifestyle. Domestic violence can include physical and sexual assault as well as emotional and financial abuse and control. By providing support to women and children affected by domestic violence we enable them to free themselves from dangerous situations, and remain free to live their lives safely. Leeds Women's Aid is a vital resource for the Yorkshire and Humber region.

Our impact on the community

We help and support hundreds of women and children each year. The aim of our work is to give women and children affected by domestic violence the confidence and strength to move onto safe independent living, improve their life chances and provide them with the best possible chance of living a life free from domestic violence.

Volunteers needed

Would you like to join a dynamic and highly experienced team of women working with women and children experiencing domestic violence? We are looking for volunteers to encompass all areas of our work. These include:~confidential telephone support, resettlement work (working with women when they move onto independent living), drop-in and group sessions, fundraising and administration. We will provide extensive training and on-going support for you. Come and join Leeds Women's Aid today!
