NLive Radio: The Station That Loves Northampton
NLive Radio is Northampton's local radio station, broadcasting on 106.9FM, DAB, online, through smart speakers and via our mobile apps. Since launching in 2016, we have been dedicated to celebrating Northampton, connecting communities and giving local people a voice.
Every week, our volunteers deliver local news, interviews, music, sports, arts and culture programming, alongside coverage of community events, charities, local businesses and campaigns. We provide a platform for hundreds of community organisations, helping them reach audiences across Northampton and the surrounding area. Over the years, we have broadcast thousands of interviews and promoted countless events, initiatives and causes that make Northampton a better place to live, work and visit.
NLive Radio is more than a radio station. We create opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to develop skills, build confidence and gain experience in broadcasting, journalism and community engagement. Our volunteers help ensure the station truly reflects the diverse communities it serves.
Following ten years of support from the University of Northampton, NLive Radio is transitioning to become an independent community organisation, allowing the station to continue serving Northampton while building on the strong foundations established since its launch.
The station continues to champion local charities, community groups, arts organisations, local musicians, businesses and public services, providing a vital platform for voices that may otherwise go unheard. Our aim is simple: to inform, entertain and engage local people while contributing to a stronger and more connected Northampton.
NLive Radio has recently been granted a five-year licence extension by Ofcom, allowing the station to continue broadcasting until 2031 and providing a strong foundation for future development.
