Hi, I'm Ben Abel, Project Manager at The Compass Project. I joined Compass in August this year after moving from Camphill School Aberdeen, and I've always had a passion for helping others, building connections, and creating opportunities that improve people's wellbeing and quality of life.
~
The Compass Project is a community-focused charity supporting people of all ages and abilities across Aberdeen and the surrounding area. Through inclusive programmes, activities, volunteering opportunities and accessible facilities, The Compass Project promotes healthier lifestyles, wellbeing, social connection, personal development and community participation. By bringing people together, we help reduce isolation, build confidence and strengthen communities.
~
Since joining the Compass team, I've been inspired by the dedication of the staff and volunteers, and excited by the opportunities ahead. It's been fantastic to see meaningful connections being formed and the positive difference these opportunities make to local people. The funds raised through this challenge will help us continue developing and expanding this work.
~
To support The Compass Project, I will be taking on a challenging 15km night trail run through the rugged terrain of Glen Tanar Estate. Taking place in late October, the event is likely to bring cold, wet and demanding conditions, making it a real test of endurance.
~
Every donation, no matter the size, will help the project continue delivering vital services and accessible opportunities for the people who rely on them. Your support will help create healthier lifestyles, build confidence, reduce isolation and strengthen community connections for people across our local area and wider afield.
~
Thank you for supporting both my challenge and the work of The Compass Project!
