I'm excited to be running the Hackney Half Marathon in aid of Browne Jacobson's London charity partner: Bow Foodbank.
Bow Foodbank provide non-referral, judgement-free assistance to anyone who asks, recognising that the hardest step for many of their guests is often walking through the door.
In Tower Hamlets, where child poverty is the highest in the country (at 46.5%), too many families face impossible choices between food, household essentials, and other basic needs. Parents often go hungry to ensure their children are fed, and many go without items that we see as basic essentials, like toothpaste and sanitary products, just to put food on the table.
Bow Foodbank’s work is driven by the belief that no one should face these challenges alone.
At a glance, Bow Food Bank's impact (in 2024/25) included:
20,941 food parcels delivered and 12,306 children’s parcels
440,000 meals provided
9,360 people supported
This support amounted to £224,156 of food and toiletries purchased and £159,507 of food donated.
In terms of who accesses the foodbank:
56% of the Foodbank’s guests are women
3313 parcels were distributed to Asylum Seekers
1,169 to people experiencing homelessness
224 to survivors of domestic violence
If you can donate to this wonderful cause, that'd be really appreciated!

21.1km through the heart of the borough. Closed roads, vibrant music, crowds, and nonstop movement. This is Hackney on the run; bold, energetic, and proud.
