September is Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month, and this year Community Fitness is getting involved by taking on a challenge to raise both awareness and vital funds for HBA Support.
On 19 September, around 10 members of Community Fitness will climb Scafell Pike England’s highest mountain as part of HBA Support’s 30 for 30 Challenge.
Starting from Wasdale Head, we’ll walk approximately 9.5 km, with the challenge expected to take between four and six hours.
This cause is especially close to our hearts. One of our members, Maria Dixon, survived a brain aneurysm, and we have seen first-hand the difference that the right information, care and support can make. Maria’s strength and determination have inspired us to take on this challenge and help other people and families affected by brain aneurysms.
Brain aneurysms affect around 1 in 30 people, yet awareness remains low. By taking on Scafell Pike during Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month, we hope to get more people talking about brain aneurysms, raise awareness of their impact and help HBA Support continue its important work.
Every donation, big or small, will help HBA Support provide information, support and a community for people and families affected by brain aneurysms and those with a familial link.
Please support us as we take on Scafell Pike for Maria, for HBA Support and for everyone affected by brain aneurysms.
Thank you for your support! ❤️
