Ready Generations https://readygenerations.co.uk/ is proud to be partnering with Dukes and Duchesses Nursery Liverpool and the Gunjur Project in the Gambia to support early years care and education through our Connect2Learn project.

Following a visit to the Gambia in January 2026, we have identified 4 nursery schools in rural areas to work alongside. We will be supporting headteachers and educators to work together and help each other to steadily improve the quality of young children's first play and learning experiences.

The Project will reach over 1000 children between the ages of birth to seven years as well as their families and communities. We will also support the professional development of 50+ educators and their leaders.

The nursery schools currently have very limited access to the basic resources they need to support children's development, exploratory play and to teach early literacy and numeracy skills.

Since we returned from our visit, we have been busy collecting resources. We have received some fantastic books, furniture and play equipment from schools in Cheshire West and Merseyside. Partner educational suppliers have also been incredibly generous with donations.

Our next visit will be in November 2026.

We now need to ship the resources ahead of our next visit in November 2026 so that we are ready to get to work straight away on curriculum development initiatives and teacher training. To achieve this we have arranged space in a container for the shipment of the resources in September. We need support to fund shipment costs.
