We offer a flexible range of 1-2-1 supports and minibus-facilitated peer-befriending community work, providing more or less input as required: minibus community outings, traditional 1-2-1 at-home befriending support, dementia support, hospital visiting, information outreach (such as onward referral, assistance with forms etc.), telephone support, and activity clubs such as our weekly men's groups and dementia-friendly singing groups.

Why they need our service

CEBs aim is to keep people connected to services, to each other and to the community. Older people can quickly become isolated when they begin to lose their independence. Our support helps to reduce the barriers they face: loss of confidence, mobility challenges, sensory impairment, dementia, lack of local family and friends, lack of accessible transport, rural isolation.

Plan and expected results

243 referred older people were supported in 2024-25 with monthly active client figures being around 200 throughout the year. We provided 12,189 hours of direct client contact support. We expect our ongoing projects in Cowal and Bute to continue to support an increasing number of older people.
