This year, I’m running the Great North Run to raise funds for RT Minds, a Durham-based charity offering hope, creativity and community to people facing suicidal thoughts, self-harm, addiction and severe mental distress.
Through my work with one of their local partner charities, I've seen how dedicated their team is, and having lived near their base for seven years, I know how vital their support is in a community & time where the need remains urgent.
This run is also a personal challenge: after being diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome three years ago, I’m rebuilding my strength and want to prove I can return to running while supporting a cause that helps people find light, belonging and a future no matter the darkness they feel around them.
