For over a decade, Motivated Minds has run Operation Elf from October right through to Christmas. Our mission is simple but vital: to make sure no one in our community feels forgotten, isolated or alone.
Christmas is often seen as a season of joy, but for people living alone, without family or friends, or struggling with their mental health, the run-up can bring loneliness, stress and anxiety. Operation Elf wraps a blanket of community support around those who need it most.
🎁 The Christmas Tag Appeal
We coordinate gifts for socially isolated people and families facing hardship, including patients in the Basildon Mental Health Unit and local residents who might otherwise go without a present on Christmas Day.
💌 Cards for the Lonely
A simple card can make a world of difference. We deliver heartfelt Christmas cards to isolated people across our community, letting them know someone is thinking of them.
🍽️ Community Christmas Dinner
We host a festive dinner, a warm and welcoming space to share a meal, enjoy good company and build meaningful friendships.
