Cycle Somerset Anniversary Challenge

This year, I Can & I Am celebrates its 10th anniversary — a decade of helping young people build confidence and self-belief. To mark the occasion, charity founder James Shone and colleague Anthony Dutton are taking on their biggest challenge yet: cycling the entire circumference of Somerset, a gruelling 400km route over 4 days this August.

Starting in Beckington on Sunday 10th August and finishing at Bath Abbey on Wednesday 13th August, the route will test their stamina, especially on Day 3, when they’ll tackle the legendary Porlock Hill — the steepest A road in Britain with gradients of up to 25%!

This challenge not only marks an important milestone for the charity but also aims to raise vital funds for our next big step: buying a third I Can & I Am bus. These buses are at the heart of our mission, taking our message of hope and self-worth directly into schools and communities.

A good-quality second-hand bus costs around £35,000, before any refurbishment. With a third bus, we can increase the number of young people we work with by 33% each term and reach even more schools across a wider area.

Your support will help us expand our impact and continue empowering young people to believe in themselves. Whether you're able to donate, cheer us on along the route, or simply share our story — we’d love to have you involved.

🚴‍♂️💛 Help us continue this journey of inspiration and belief by donating if you can. Thank you!
