Milton Keynes has a proud tradition of extending a helping hand to those in need. From welcoming Syrian refugees and Afghan evacuees to supporting individuals fleeing the war in Ukraine, our community has always recognized the universal need for compassion and care.

We are launching a new, long-term initiative aimed at helping Palestinian students and recent graduates settle and thrive in Milton Keynes in collaboration with local leaders and organisations from MK who have been at the forefront of providing essential services, from housing to welfare.

Organisations involved include Trubys Garden and Church of Christ the Cornerstone, with individual commitments from leaders at the Open University and Durham University. Several other high-profile organisations will be involved soon.

Your contribution can make a significant difference. Together, we can continue our legacy of support and ensure these students have the resources they need to succeed. Join us in making a positive impact today.

We will be receiving our first students from 1 October 2025. They comprise: an Open University PhD student researching leadership in Gaza (who will arrive with his three-year old daughter); two recent MSc in Economics graduates from Durham University and two recent Master’s in Education & Leadership graduates from Durham University. Three of the students are from Gaza and two from the West Bank.

We are looking for the following support:

·       Accommodation in Milton Keynes, preferably close to The Open University (The OU);

·       Local transport (especially if their accommodation is further away from the OU);

·       Childcare;

·       Funds to cover utility bills;

·       Employment or a PhD studentship for the three recent graduates; 

We believe the students will be a valuable addition to our diverse and vibrant community in Milton Keynes, and we hope to make them feel truly welcome and at home.
