Adam Paton's Cross Staffordshire Hike

Hi! I'm Adam Paton, & I'm leading a group of friends & colleagues from Wincanton's National Distribution Centre in Stafford on a 60 mile hike across the complete length of Staffordshire. We're setting off on Saturday 11th March from Whittington (the most southerly point in Staffordshire), and trekking through the county and up to Flash (the furthest point north). And our aim is to complete this within 24 hours!! We're attempting this challenge to raise money for 3 very deserving causes: STING (Staffordshire Therapeutic Independent Neurological Group), Charity of the Year at theWincanton site, which works to support anybody in the area with a neurological condition. The group operates out of a specially adapted unit on the Whitebridge Estate in Stone, which allows members to attend regular activities and take part in exercise classes and neurological therapies; Scotty’s Little Soldiers, which aims to provide relief from the effects of bereavement to young people up to the age of 18 years who have suffered the loss of a parent serving with the British Armed Forces. The charity provides its beneficiaries with support and guidance throughout their childhood and offers a respite, however brief, from the daily ups and downs of coping with the loss of a parent; and for the family of Robbie Forrester who was a friend and colleague of mine at Wincanton. His sudden tragic death last year left a family without a husband and father, and was a great shock to all at the Stafford Distribution Centre.
