In 2024, b-side opened bnb-side at 77 Fortuneswell: six bedrooms, a project space and a place for artists, communities and creative projects to stay, work and connect on the Isle of Portland.
It has quickly become an important part of what we do. Artists come to Portland to develop new work, festival guests have somewhere to stay, and community groups have a place to meet and make things happen. We also use the space to support young people, helping them develop their skills and see the arts as a viable creative career.
Now we have the chance to buy the building.
We are aiming to raise £50,000 from our community. This will provide vital match funding towards the deposit needed to purchase bnb-side, alongside larger gifts and other funding we are securing separately.
Owning bnb-side will give b-side a permanent base on Portland and greater financial security for the future. It will allow us to keep the space available to artists and communities, invest in our programme and create more opportunities for people on the island.
A £10 donation, £100 donation or £1,000 donation all make a difference. Together, these gifts can help us reach our target.
If the purchase cannot go ahead, funds raised will remain dedicated to securing b-side’s long-term creative base and infrastructure. We will communicate openly with supporters about any change of plan and how the funds will be used.
Contact rocca@b-side.org.uk for our full business plan and to find out more about our plans for the building and its long-term sustainability.
Help us make bnb-side ours, and secure a permanent home for b-side on Portland.
