Our aim is to produce the coaches of tomorrow - we want to train 8 explorer scouts to be paddlesport coaches. To do this we need kayaks suitable for their size rather than adult boats. The aim is to get them qualified as Level 1 coaches so they in turn can voluntarily coach the years below them in both scouts and the local community.

The project will ensure our own youngsters not only enjoy the sport of kayaking and other paddlesports but will also make them aware that they can put something back into the sport and their local community by becoming volunteers within the sport.

Eight explorer scouts, currently aged 15 years old, will gain level 1 paddlesport qualifications before the age of 17. Once qualified, they in turn can coach 8 students per session, so in effect can coach 64 different people per week.
