Hi. I’m Reuben. I am 17 years old and I am planning on running a marathon to raise money for Lads Needs Dads. (LND).
My dad passed away when I was 9 years old on the 16th March 2015 due to cancer, and therefore I was put forward to take part in LND who have been supporting me for over five years.
LND provides long term support and intervention for boys without father figures at home. We are taken through a group-work programme amongst which includes working through issues that impact boys as they are growing up, outdoor activities, practical life skills, community volunteering, trips out and more.
The mentors within the groups are there to help support and guide boys in similar situations to myself, to help us be the best we can be.
I have decided to run a marathon on the 16th March 2024 in memory of my dad and to raise money for Lads Need Dads. Any support you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
