ASDA, Tesco's, Sainsbury's, The Coop, Marks and Spencer, Aldi, Greggs and independent retailers and local people donate funds here, or cupboard goods (tinned and packet food), fresh food, toiletries, baby food, nappies, baby wipes, pet food and other daily essential items to our Foodshare. We work with local agencies to provide emergency support packs for these vulnerable families that are in desperate need of our help.

Our foodshare is open every day for emergency food parcels.

Our Social Supermarket opens on the 2nd November 2020 and is open every Monday & Thursday 11-3 during term-time for people to collect items, or agencies collect for them.

Why they need our service

We want a society in which isolated and vulnerable adults, families struggling in poverty, babies and toddlers do not have to suffer from food poverty because of financial difficulties at home. To get there, we provide a Foodshare scheme to help them get through tough times and support themselves. We campaign and influence policy to reduce stigma against food poverty, single parents, and try to make services more accessible to all families - whatever their shape or size.

Plan and expected results

We will provide a year round daily support service that will reduce food poverty, support those most families that are most vulnerable and require immediate and emergency support. Most households are only 1 pay packet away from the poverty line. It can take just one broken washing machine, or a failed car MOT to stop families being able to buy their food and necessary toiletries for the week. We aim to support 280 children with this year with your help. Your support is gratefully received.
