What is the MK Community Foundation September Spectacular?
MK Community Foundation is a leading grant-making charity sending funding where it's needed most in Milton Keynes. They know first-hand that the donations charities receive provide a lifeline to many and want to help them go even further. Each year, they partner with Localgiving, to carry out two match fund challenges in order to help the donations your Milton Keynes charity receives have double the impact.
How does it work?
From 23rd - 30th September, donations made to your organisation through your Localgiving profile will be matched. You will need to be registered with Localgiving in order to take part.
The MK Community Foundation will match up to £500 per registered organisation, or up to £1,000 for organisations who are working with the elderly, people with disabilities or people suffering from mental health problems.

Wolverton Lantern Festival
"Our raised funds go towards the staging of Wolverton Lantern Festival on Saturday 7 December 2024. This is the Parish's longest running community event, and involved hundreds of people parading through the streets with lanterns that they've created."
MK Food Bank
"Our raised funds will buy food and essentials for our food parcel service."
Hindu Devi Mandir Milton Keynes
"Our raised funds will go towards Community Walk and Meditations sessions for the community (open to all) to improve mental health issues and again this we would like to do same year. This match fund will help us to organise such events for the community this year."

St Marks Meals MK
"Our raised funds will go towards our operating costs, particularly in food procurement. Last school year, we delivered nearly 7,000 meal boxes across Milton Keynes and spent over £40,000 on food for the boxes. Any money received through this match funding will directly support our food procurement efforts."
Milton Keynes Irish Welfare Support Group
"Our raised funds will go towards taking our members to a Local Carvery during January 2025. We find that this time of year just after Christmas can be a very depressing and lonely time as many members live alone, and feel very isolated."
Milton Keynes Rowing Club
"Our raised funds will go towards large TV that we require to play back coaching videos recorded on the water, so technique can be improved for our new members to the Club."

The CrossLinks Centre
We run groups and clubs for disadvantaged members of our local community. For the benefit of The Friday Club, our group for people with learning difficulties and special needs, it would be good to have some funds with which to buy equipment for their Friday meeting.
5 On It Foundation
"Our raised funds will help us continue our Hang Out Games programme for teenagers aged 12 - 16yrs - this audience struggles more with mental health than it ever has yet there is a lack of after school activities that are free where young people can socialise with friends, play sport and talk with peers and mentors. Our Hang Out programme for out of school hours helps mental and physical health and those at risk."
York House Centre (Stony Stratford)
"Our raised funds from the Community Fund money will be spent on making the new path (currently gravel) to the side entrance accessible for wheelchair users and the disabled/inform. The Margaret Powell money will be used for equipment and facilities for the Phoenix Rising group (hosted by York House) which provides for young adults with special needs."
MK Melting Pot
"Our raised funds will be used to provide winter food parcels for disadvantaged individuals and families on low incomes. Parcels will contain food and household essentials to help people stay warm and well nourished over the colder months. This will be distributed via our social space and wellbeing hub."
Age UK Milton Keynes
"Our raised funds will be used over the winter to help older people maximise their income, reduce their household energy costs and access fuel discounts through our information and advice service (I&A)."

We cover an age range from 4 years old tight through to our eldest Volunteers and Trefoil Guild members of 90+. Our raised funds help us to support girls to take part in the activities and events we can provide and by subsidising events to make them affordable so more of our members can join in.
